Federal Grant Funding

Federal funding is distributed to schools with a high concentration of students living in poverty and each grant program targets different types of student learning challenges - including developing teachers to deliver more effective education. The key to successful grant application and award is knowing which programs align to your specific situation and how the funding is distributed (formula vs. competitive). We’ve created a table to help you identify which grant programs you might qualify for and a link to that grant program website for more information.

State Grant Funding

Although your state provides the majority of your current school budget through taxes, there may be available state grants that you can access. We’ve assembled the links to each state’s grant funding web pages to make it easier for you to research your options.

Foundation Grants

Many private foundations seek to fund projects related to education - especially, STEM. The will often distribute their funds to schools and districts through a competitive grant process, which means you are competing with other grant applicants to attract the investment of these foundations. As with any grant, a key to securing foundation grants is the ability to align your application to the mission and interests of the foundation.
